What we do with your swing.

Strike Lab is built by Precision Apps LLC. This policy covers the Strike Lab iPhone app and this website. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Effective 18 August 2026 · Version 1.0

1. The short version

We keep your swing videos until you delete them. Your swing history is the point of the app, so nothing expires on a timer.

A person at Strike Lab may watch your swing and the analysis it produced, to check whether the read was right and improve how the app reads swings.

We do not train models on your footage. If that ever changes, we will ask you first, separately.

Nothing is published anywhere unless you opt in for that specific swing, and you can change your mind.

2. Who we are

Precision Apps LLC is the controller of the personal information described here. For anything in this policy, write to mike@precisionappsllc.com. A person reads that address — there is no ticket queue.

3. What we collect

Your swing videos

When you submit a swing, the app finds the swing inside your video on your phone and uploads only that clip — usually two to four seconds. The rest of the video never leaves your device. A swing clip normally shows you, and may show whoever else is in the frame.

What you tell us about your golf

Whether you swing right or left handed, the club you used, the camera angle you filmed from, the miss you are fighting, and anything else you enter in the app such as your name or handicap. We use it to read the swing correctly — a left-handed swing read as right-handed produces the wrong answer.

Account and device information

An account identifier so your swings stay yours across sessions, plus basic technical information such as app version and device model that arrives with any app request.

How you use the app

We record product events — a swing submitted, a result opened, a drill viewed — so we can tell which parts of the app work. We do not record your screen, and we do not capture sessions in which your footage is playing.

4. What we use it for

WhatWhyBasis
Analysing the swing you submitted It is the thing you asked the app to do Providing the service
Keeping your clip and its analysis So your swing history exists and can be compared over time Providing the service
A person reviewing a swing and its analysis To judge whether the read was right and improve the app's coaching Our legitimate interest in a product that works
Publishing a swing on social channels Only if you choose it Your consent, per swing

5. A person may watch your swing

People assume that "the app analyses my swing" means no human ever sees it. For Strike Lab that is not true, so we would rather say it plainly than have you find out later. Someone at Strike Lab may open your clip alongside the analysis it produced, decide whether the diagnosis was correct, and change how the app asks its questions as a result. This leaves nothing behind: once your footage is deleted, there is no copy of your swing baked into anything.

That is the difference between reviewing footage and training on it. Training would fold your swing into a model that cannot be unpicked afterwards, which is why it would need your permission and is not something we do.

6. Who else sees it

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers to run the app, and they may only handle your information on our instructions:

  • Google — the swing clip is sent to the Gemini API to be analysed. The call is made by our server, never by your phone.
  • Supabase — our database and application servers, holding your account, your submissions, and their analyses.
  • Cloudflare R2 — where the swing clips themselves are stored.
  • PostHog — product analytics for the usage events described above.

These providers process information in the United States. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.

7. How long we keep it, and how to delete it

We keep your swings until you delete them. There is no expiry window, on purpose: a golfer who stays for three years should be able to look back at year one. Indefinite retention is only fair if you are told about it, so we are telling you here.

In the app, deleting your data clears it from your device. To have your swings and their analyses removed from our servers as well, email mike@precisionappsllc.com from the address on your account and say what you want deleted — one swing or everything. We handle these by hand today and will action them within 30 days. We are building the in-app control that does this immediately, and this policy will be updated when it ships.

8. Publishing a swing

Strike Lab has an option to publish a swing analysis on our social channels. It applies to one swing at a time, and it is never a condition of using the app. You can change the setting for future swings at any time, and if you want a swing that has already been published taken down, email us and we will remove it.

9. Other people in your video

If someone else appears in a clip you upload — the friend filming you, a golfer in the next bay — please make sure they are comfortable with that first, particularly before you choose to publish a swing.

10. Security

Your information travels encrypted over the network and is stored encrypted by our providers. Access to stored footage is limited to what running and improving the app requires. No system is perfect, and we will not claim otherwise.

11. Children

Strike Lab is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has submitted swings to us, write to us and we will delete them.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live — including the EU, the UK, and California — you may have the right to access the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, or object to how we use it. Ask at mike@precisionappsllc.com and we will do it. We will not treat you differently for asking. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

13. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and we will tell you in the app before any change that affects what we do with footage you have already submitted.
